3D Print and Design
Have you always dreamed of building and learning how to create a 3D object or understanding and mastering more about computers and new technologies?
Serdar and his team will give you the keys to this fascinating world, giving you the basics for modeling objects then the principles of 3D printing and design, while having fun.
Your coach : Serdar Okumus

The aim of project
Share my experience
A subject to consolidate your knowledge of 3D modeling : computer-aided drawing techniques, the passage from 2D to 3D by means of the transformations offered by the modeling software, the design of the object’s shape according to its manufacturing technique. The basic notions of 3D printing : how a 3D FDM printer (which uses filament fusion) is made; how a 3D model is transformed into a printable file, using a software called “slicer”, the different materials, the key parameters that govern the printer : temperatures, speeds, layer thickness… in a fun, educational and friendly atmosphere, with the help of Serdar, in Istanbul.
It’s your turn to play !
Acquire new skills
Make your design!
Learn the basics of 3D printing and design, 3D modeling with a computer, learn to 3D print an object, and manufacturing. Geometric modeling, geometry and calculation, 3D printing
Project management skills
Leading a project from A to Z with a final production, experimenting, understanding, creating, trying, making mistakes, testing, trying again, innovating and succeeding, thinking and helping each other to find solutions together, designing and printing an object we designed.
Your first steps in the world of 3D printing through an initiation in small group with Serdar and his team. 4 sessions of 2 hours to discover the modeling of objects with the computer, then the principles of 3D printing and Design
Lesson 1 : Discovering the world of 3D printing
Discover what a 3D printer is and how 3D printing works. Concepts of 3D
Lesson 2 : Getting to grips with the 3D modeling software
Discovery of the interface and the different menus. Introduction to the design application ‘tinkercad’. Discovery of the interface and the different menus. Modeling tools.
Lesson 3 : Realization of the project
Choice of the part to be modeled and construction of the part. Design of an airplane model, design of a hot air balloon.
Depending on the skill level of the participants, the examples may vary.
Lesson 4 : Printing preparation
Preparation of files for printing
Resources to print your part
Serdar and his team will also reveal the tips and tricks that will allow you to succeed in printing to the height of your requirements.
A few words from…
I am a member of the Maker Çocuk team
We created Maker Çocuk in May 2015, to teach children about this new generation of production tools and the culture that comes with it. Since the day we were founded, we have taught more than 10000 children and more than 1000 adults, teachers and educators about the maker movement and the use of tools related to the maker movement.
Our team is composed of different disciplines and wants to create change and difference. There are computer science teachers among us, electronic engineers and designers. This way we can teach by learning from each other and offer kids different perspectives.
We love sharing our knowledge, I can’t wait to meet you again and teach you my favorite subjects!
See you soon, Serdar
